USS J.F.K. Decommissioning Visit to Boston
Marine Industrial Park, South Boston
March 2007

The aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) paid its final visit to Boston before decommissioning. She was the penultimate oil-powered aircraft carrier in the U.S. Navy.

While she was in port in Boston, the USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) hospital ship slipped into an adjoining pier for refitting. At 894 feet, the bright white Comfort is nearly as impressive as the 1052 foot aircraft carrier.

I took these pictures with my plastic-lensed Holga 120N toy camera, which accounts for the poor optical quality.
